Lyrics by Conor M.
Yeah buddy
rollin like a big shot
twig tuned up like a Gaborik wrist shot
are the mitts new?
is the flow good?
lean back leg kick let it fly top tit.
ETC
I'll be rocking the ice cream tape job for my home opener. And don't worry, 'twill be philthy.
Alright so I know my blog is getting tough to upload because of all these galldarn vids. Shut up. I don't care. They're sick, and you know it. So, I'm gonna keep uploading these vids and sucking up my bandwidth and you suckers are gonna pay for it. That's the price to pay for your daily dose of dirt.

Best of the Last 2 weeks
Sorry for taking so long to get some new shiz up here. There are some incredible saves in these videos. I never knew goaltending could be philthy, but who the muff knows? I guess I totally underrated goalie highlights. Yes, I know, I'm a sieve.

Best of the Week 10/19/09
That video is pretty sick. Nothing like a good Niklas Kronwall hit to get your adrenaline going. And Lidstrom.... yea i'm not really sure how he pulled that off.

Best of the Week 10/13/09
This week was filled with nasty things of all sorts. Might I add that I met Patrick Kane this week and got a picture with him. It was weird because nobody recognized him except for me; he was by himself, ordering some food, like a boss. So, I stroll up to him and tell him I love what he has done with the Hawks, and that I'm a huge fan. I shook his hand, then got a picture with him. Overall, he was a pretty chill guy. And he is a lot shorter in real life than I thought he was. After all was said and done, I wished him good luck and my buddy told him to enjoy his ice cream, and we witnessed the signature Kaner smile. I'd say it was one of the best nights of my life. What's funny is after we got a picture with him, still nobody noticed him. Granted, we weren't in Chi-town, but still.... c'mon, he's like the nastiest player in the league. Anyway, here are the highlights for last week:

Opening Weekend
Bloodiest Fight:
Out of 21 fights on opening weekend, this one was by the far the bloodiest. Why does anybody even bother to mess with Milan Lucic? He's a monster.
Best of Faceoff Saturday:
Saturday was the busiest day in NHL History with 15 games going on that day. Here are the highlights from this historic day:
Chicago vs. Florida Game 1:
Watch for Kane's filthiness.

Hawks Lose Victoria Cup
After routing the Swiss champion HC Davos 9-2, the Hawks lost a tight game to the ZSC Zurich Lions, 2-1. After all the hype, and of course the butt-kicking the previous game, it was a quite a shock that the Chicago Blackhawks lost this game. Whatetver, they are to busy getting ready for the Florida Panthers in the season opener in Finland. Here's the full story. Courtesy of NHL.com:
Lions roar against Blackhawks
Tuesday, 09.29.2009 / 4:30 PM / 2009 Compuware NHL Premiere
By Shawn P. Roarke - NHL.com Managing Editor
ZURICH -- The ZSC Zurich Lions shocked the hockey world Tuesday night at Hallenstadion, defeating the Chicago Blackhawks, 2-1, to win the Victoria Cup.Patrik Barschi and Lukas Grauwiler scored goals against Cristobal Huet to counter a goal by Cam Barker of Chicago and deliver the Lions one of the biggest wins in their history. The Lions used a steadfast commitment to defense and positional play to limit the Hawks' scoring chances throughout the game, often sacrificing their bodies against the bigger, more physically imposing Hawks. Youngster Blaine Down, called up from the Baby Lions for this game, was a perfect example. At least three times during the game Down blocked a shot and left the ice hobbling, only to take his next shift.Defenseman Daniel Schnyder was another example of Zurich's tenacity. Locked in a crease battle with the hulking Dustin Byfuglien in the third period, Schnyder never backed down and never gave an inch, frustrating Byfuglien into taking a retaliatory slashing penalty. And so it was throughout the Lions roster. But perhaps nobody stood taller than Finnish legend Ari Sulander in goal. Sulander, known as "The Wall," is on the wrong side of 40, but on this night he recaptured the magic that made him a Finnish national icon almost two decades earlier. Sulander stared down some of the best offensive players in the NHL and never blinked -- allowing nothing more than Barker's first-period goal on an awkward slapper that hit of the goalie's knee and bounced into the net.His teammates picked their goaltender up after that mistake, tightening the screws in the defensive zone as a timely offense put the Lions back in the game. First, Patrik Barschi scored on a breakaway just six minutes after Barker's opening goal. Then it was the unsung Grauwiler with one of the most famous goals in the proud history of the reigning European champions. Grauwiler was in the right place at the right time to beat Barker to the rebound of a shot by teammate Cyrill Buhler and give the Lions a lead they never would relinquish.

Upcoming Season
Hello from the United States. As you all know, the regular NHL Season is approaching us, and with that comes several responsibilites on my part.
One, I will try as hard as I can to get game highlights and footage from the games and I will post them on the blog. This won't happen everyday, nor will it happen with regular consistency. This is because there are so many darn games that go on that it will be a fruitless effort to capture even half of them. Also, the NHL site and affiliate sites have all the game footage from every game, so trying to post the majority of the games on my site is just a waste of time. What will go on the digest will be snippets from different things going on around the league, sick plays, and other miscellaneous stuff. Just contact me if you have any suggestions of things you would like to see.
Two, I will try to cover High School Hockey from my home state, Wisconsin, as well as from Minnesota. Why Minnesota? Well, because they are downright filthy up there and I have someone that can fill me in up there. An informant, to say the least. So if you have game footage or news pertaining to these topics, please email me at danglersdigest@gmail.com. I would love the input.
Three, anything else that you guys want me to put up, I will try to cover. Things like, Pond Hockey set-ups, Random Acts of Puck (RAP), other leagues or teams, and anything else that is filthy, please tell me.
I look forward to this upcoming puck season, and you should too.

Jeremy Roenick Retires
Oh man. What a great guy. Roenick was definitely one of the most exciting players to watch as well as one of the funniest players to listen to. He started as a Hawk and ended as a Shark. A gift to the hockey world. The NHL will definitely miss Jeremy Roenick. Here is a highlight tribute video in honor of Mr. Jeremy Roenick:

I Never Knew Todd Bertuzzi was THIS Filthy
Sorry I havent been posting anything from NHL.com's 30 in 30 where they cover a team everyday for the each day of August. I couldn't help but notice Calgary's Best Goals of 2008-2009, featured today as Calgary's 30 in 30 is today. But let's get serious here, TODD BERTUZZI. Just watch the video and let your mind be blown away. Honestly, I thought all Bertuzzi was good for was hitting, getting mad, doing something stupid, and then getting suspended. Wow, that's all I have to say. Who knew?

Blackhawks will face ZSC Lions in Victoria Cup
BERNE- NHL Players' Association and the International Ice Hockey Federation Sunday announced that the Chicago Blackhawks will be the North American representative in the second annual Victoria Cup to be played on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009, at the 11,000-seat Hallenstadion in Zurich against the ZSC Lions, champions of the Champions Hockey League. Sakic Retires
He was a legendary player. Fast, smart, agile, filthy, and funny. I will always remember scoring upwards of 22 goals per game in NHL 2002 for computer with help from good ol' Joe Sakic and his Colorado Avalanche. He seemed to have dropped off the radar since then. We will miss you Joe! Have a great rest of your life.

Offseason Moves
Wow, there have been some exciting, unpredictable offseason moves so far, and we're only into the fourth day of free agent signing.
First, lets start out with the draft. We all knew Jonathan Tavares was going first, even though he claims he never knew. That's crap. What I'm surprised about is the fact that the Islanders did something right for once. They always seem to screw up their offseason and managerial moves somehow, but on this instance they held their composure and didn't pee themselves in the spotlight of the NHL viewing community. Congratulations. Follow this link to find out who was drafted to which team and when: http://www.nhl.com/ice/draftsearch.htm?year=2009&round=1
Next, the Free Agents. Wow. Where to start? Hossa's with Chicago now. (GO HAWKS!) Khabibulin is with Edmonton. Havlat goes to the Wild. Chris Higgins is going to NY Rangers. Gaborik will bring success to the Rangers from his hospital bed. The Sedin sisters decide to stay put in their cozy town of Vancouver. The Thrashers decided they needed more Russian influence on their team so they picked up Antropov. They also signed Pavel Kubina.
So there has been a lot of moving and shaking in the hockey world as the free agents are signed. We will just have to sit and watch anxiously and hope that our hometown team managers don't screw everything up for next season. For more information about free agent signings go to http://www.nhl.com/ice/page.htm?id=34751&navid=DLNHLHome

Dedicated to All Things Filthy
Welcome to Danlger's Digest, the home of the dirtiest, filthiest dangles and danglers known to man. During this next week, I will be taking a poll, asking everyone who visits this site to please comment on who you thought the dirtiest, filthiest dangler of the NHL 2008-2009 season was. Please be patient on the progress of the site, I should have vids and pics up within the next week. If you could send some sick pics or vids of dirty dangles and sick dekes, and other raunchy puck material, you have a very good chance of having your vid or pic or what have you featured on this site. Send your pics and vid links to danglersdigest@gmail.com
Some Ideas that would make a great addition to the site would be:
- sick pond puck setups
- exotic places where puck is played
- your own sick dekes
- how to vids on filthy moves
- other appropriate hockey material
If you send the pic or vid link with your name and location, I can correctly label them.
Please let me know what can be added to the site in order to make it better by either e mailing me or commenting.
